Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Woodard, 90, of Rebecca, Ga. will be held Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Rebecca Baptist Church with burial to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Ashburn, Ga. Mr. Woodard died Thursday in the Uni Health Magnolia Manor South, Moultrie, Georgia following a short illness.
Mr. Woodard was born in Crisp County, Georgia and was the son of the late Gus R. and Katie Mae Reynolds Woodard. He had lived most of his life in Turner County and was a retired farmer. He was a member and deacon of the Rebecca Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise Goode Woodard.
Survivors include his daughter, Faye Woodard Redding and son-in-law Joe Redding, Manassas, Virginia; his brother, Gene Woodard, Decatur, Ga.; two grandchildren Kate Redding Brown, Charlottesville, Va., Daniel Woodard Redding, Louisville, Ky., and two great-grandchildren, Caroline Brown and Annabel Brown, both of Charlottesville, Va.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Chapel.
