Beverly: Alice P. (Fitzgerald) Thomas age 84 of Beverly, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield.
Born in Salem and raised in Port Howe, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Annabelle (Tower) Fitzgerald. In 1954 following the death of her husband in Nova Scotia, she returned to Salem. Alice had a varied career over the years. She worked as a waitress for many of the leading restaurants on the north shore, and in later years she worked as a companion to the elderly. She also held several other positions.
Alice was primarily a family centered woman. She was a devoted grandmother, and also loved bingo and knitting. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at Masconomet Healthcare in Topsfield for their love, care and support during the past two years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mona Nadeau and her husband Marcel of Beverly, a son, Raymond A. Hubbard of Holiday, FL, 2 grandchildren, David M. and Sarah A. Nadeau both of Beverly, a brother, Charles ‘Greg’ Fitzgerald and his wife Florence of River Phillip, Nova Scotia, a sister, Janice Clingerman and her husband, Donald of Crossville, TN, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Edith Burke and 4 brothers, Norman, Kenneth, Elmer and Donald Fitzgerald.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 8 a.m. at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem to be followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 9 a.m. Visiting hours: Friday, 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
