Obituary

Fabyan,Ct.
Rose M. (Nedzweckas) Thomas, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Day Kimball Hospital, in Putnam, Ct., after a courageous battle with cancer.
She leaves her husband of 41 years, Van Thomas, three sisters, Victoria Prunier of Southbridge, Anne Tyree and Josephine Pontbriand of Charlton and one brother, John Nedzweckas of Charlton and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rose was born in Leicester on July 14, 1940 a daughter of Felix and Victoria Nedzweckas. She grew up in Charlton and attended the Charlton School System.
She was predeceased by six brothers, Felix, Peter, Alphonse, Joseph, Edward and William Nedzweckas and two sisters, Dorothy Choinski and Mary Ryczek.
Rose worked at the former American Optical Co., and then in sales at Sears in Auburn and later helped her husband manage their real estate business.
Rose loved to travel and enjoyed the Jersey Shore. she was a Polka fan and enjoyed Country and Western music. She enjoyed many trips following various polka bands.
Rose loved gardening and was an excellent cook. She enjoyed wonderful times with her nieces and nephews.
A Special "Thank You" to all the dedicated doctors, nurses and staff at Dana Farber and UMass Memorial, and also the Hospice Program at Day Kimball Hospital.
Rose's Funeral will be Saturday, December 18, 2010 with a Service at 11AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 35 Lake Parkway, Webster. Burial will be in Fabyan Cemetery, Fabyan, Ct.
There will be a calling period on Saturday from 9 to 10:30AM at the Robert J. Miller Funeral Home and Lake Chapel, 366 School St. in Webster.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA. 02445, or UMass/Memorial, Levine Center, 119 Belmont St., Worcester. MA., 01605.
