Lewis J. Venezia, of Stoneham, formerly of Medford, died peacefully at home Tuesday morning after a courageous four and a half year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was 68.
Lewis was raised in Medford, the son of the late Ignazio and the late Margaret (Maffeo) Venezia. After graduating from Medford High with the class of 1961, Lewis worked as an electrician before his retirement and was a member of IBEW local 103. A model train enthusiast all his life, he was a TCA member as well as a member of the Italian American War Veteran Post of Medford. Lew was also a long-time member of the Light Brigade Drum and Bugle Corps.
The beloved husband of Charlotte (DeMarco) Venezia, he was a devoted father to Lisa Drew and her husband Michael of Winchester, Lewis C. Venezia and his wife Jenny of Melrose. He was a loving grandfather of Megan and Michael Drew Jr and a dear brother to Robert Venezia of Pueblo CO.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday Dec. 18th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
