James Edward Ogle, 78, of Afton Road, died Monday, December 13, 2010 at Martinsville Memorial Hospital.
Born in Carroll County, VA on April 4, 1932, he was the son of the late Vivian E. Ogle and Myrtle Swecker Ogle.
He was married to Hazel Wyatt Ogle, who survives him of the home. He lived most of his life in the Danville
area where he worked as a home building contractor and as a driver for Trailways Bus Lines. He was a veteran of
the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Olympus, during the Korean war. He was affiliated with
Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, and he was a member of the American Legion Post 325.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Ogle is survived by two daughters, Evelyn Ogle Lewis and Edna Ogle Dameron and her
husband, John, all of Danville; one sister, Iva Ogle Easter of Hillsville, Va: Grandchildren, John Christopher Dameron and wife,
Harpreet, and Philip James Dameron. Also, One granddaughter, Tara Dameron Mason and husband, Andy, and one
great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother, Bill Ogle, and by two sisters, Lillie Ogle and Jean Tedder.
Funeral services for Mr. Ogle will be held Thursday, December 16, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel with
the Rev. Danny Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park with military honors being given by the
American Legion Dan River Post 1097. The family will receive friends at Barker Funeral Home on Wednesday,
December 15, 2010 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times will be at 1932 Orphanage Road. The family respectfully
