Obituary

Taunton – Manuel J. Viveiros, a long time Taunton resident, died Monday December 13th 2010, after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loving family. He was 86 years of age. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Kiernan) Viveiros. He was born in Fall River, Ma. Son of the late Manuel Viveiros and Alexandria (DaSilvia) Viveiros. He was a graduate of Dighton High School. He worked for Haskon for 43 years. He was a member of the Enunciation of The Lord Church in Taunton. He was a member of the Elks Club in Taunton. He served in United States Army in WWII. He received the good conduct medal, the Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon. He loved to do gardening and loved spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Viveiros is survived by one brother, Antoine Viveiros of Fall River. He is predeceased by three sisters, Caroline Richards, Mamie Allie and Josephine Ferreira. He was the beloved brother in law of Jim and Shelia Freitas of Taunton. He was also the beloved godfather of Pamela Estano of Raynham and Ed Kiernan of Taunton. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. His funeral services will be held at the Taunton Funeral Home on Saturday at 7:30 am. Followed by a mass of Christian Burial at the Enunciation of The Lord Church in Taunton at 8:30 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are Friday from 4-8 pm. Donations can be made in Mr. Viveiros memory to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445-7226, ATTN: Contribution Services.
