Elva M. (Freitas) Kelly, 87, of Brockton, died December 14, 2010 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater following a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Kelly and former wife of the late Anthony Florio. Born, raised and educated in West Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle (Borgess) Freitas. Elva had been employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant for 15 years in South Shore Nursing Facility. She was active in Crosby Gardens, a past president of the Tenants Association and was voted leading citizen of Crosby Gardens. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and crafts.
Elva was the loving mother of Linda Chuckran and her husband John of Brockton, Anthony Florio and his late wife MaryAnn of West Bridgewater, Darlene MacDonald and her husband Edward of Brockton, Michael Florio and his wife Jodi of Bridgewater and Debra Ostroski of New Bedford; grandmother of nine, great grandmother of ten; sister of William Freitas of West Bridgewater, Josephine Burroughs of Easton and the late Richard and Anna Freitas. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held followed by burial in Melrose Cemetery.
