Estelle Jones Alford, 89, of Ocilla, Georgia, died December 23, 2003 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27, 2003, at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. John Gibbs, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 P.M., Friday, at Paulk Funeral Home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Alford was born April 29, 1914, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late J.L. and Matilda Faulkner Jones and was also preceded in death by her husband, R.F. “Floydie”Alford. She lived in Irwin County all of her life and was a graduate of Ocilla High School. Mrs. Alford was a retired seamstress with Polly Veals and a former supervisor at the Monarch Company. She was a member of Osceola Chapter # 431 Order Of The Eastern Star, where she was presently serving as Worthy Matron, a position she served in five times. Mrs. Alford was an active member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Irwin County.
Survivors include: one son: Max Alford, Dallas, TX; two daughters: Sue A. Barnes, Lake Blackshear, GA and Katie BonEnfant, Ocilla, GA; 7 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; one sister: Hazel Hudson, Ocilla.
