Doris Stone Fletcher, age 75, of Broxton GA passed away on December 08, 2010 at St. Luke Medical Center in Jacksonville Florida. Mrs Fletcher, a native of Denton GA, was born December 13, 1934: she is the daughter of the late Claude and Addie Wooten Stone. She was the devoted wife of the late Gerald Georgia Fletcher for 47 years. Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by brothers: Emory Stone and Harvey Stone. She was a sewing machine operator at Broxton Sewing factory and Leemar’s corporation of Douglas, GA, RN ( Labor & Delivery) nurse at Coffee Regional for seventeen years and a member of the Broxton First Baptist Church. Funeral services were held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 11, 2010, at the Broxton First Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Copeland and Rev. Freddy Gardner officiating. Music as follows: Soloist, Sherrie Screws sang “Serenaded By Angels” with taped accompaniment and she sang “Beulah Land” accapella, congregation sang “Amazing Grace” with Willifred Thompson, organist and Barbara Rish, pianist. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant (Byrd) Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Joshua Fletcher, Seth S. Taylor, Chuck T. Scarborough, Elbert Scarbrough, Timmie Stone and Josh Stone. The Hosannah Sunday School Class served as Honorary Pallbearers. Survivors include: children, George (Janice) Fletcher, Broxton GA, Karen (Larry) Taylor, Waycross GA, Michael (Kay) Fletcher, Douglas GA, Pamela (John) Harrison, Dillard GA, Grandchildren; Janet F. Collins, Broxton GA, Seth (Danielle)Taylor and Courtney S. Taylor, Waycross GA, Lacey (Shane) Hegwood, McDonough, GA, Joshua M. Fletcher, Douglas, GA; great grandchildren: Laken D. Collins and Ethan Collins of Broxton, GA; sisters: Iva Lee King, Waycross, GA, Shirley (Johnny) Caves, West Green, GA, Linda (Larry) Smith and Sandra (Lonnie) Moody, Hazlehurst, GA; brothers: Jimmy Stone, Macon, GA, Vrylin Stone, Douglas, GA, Claude (Connie) Stone, Jr., Denton, GA and beloved cat - Meow.
