Obituary

PLEASANT HILL, CA-John “Jerry” Egan, 82 formerly of Worcester, died Thursday, December 18th in his home. He leaves his wife of 58 years Rosaleen (Kane) Egan, 4 sons, Michael Egan of Walnut Creek, CA, William Egan of Seattle, WA, Thomas Egan of Napa, CA and Patrick Egan of El Dorado Hills, CA; 4 daughters Mary Surbridge of Carmel, CA, Peggy Lindquist of Edmonds, WA, Nancy Egan of Martinez, CA and K. C. Miller of Alameda, CA, a sister Mary Needham of Worcester, 14 grandchildren, nephews and nieces. His brother Robert Egan predeceased him.

He was born in Worcester the son of John and Catherine (Callinan) Egan and had lived in California and Washington for many years. Mr. Egan was a graduate of St. Stephen’s High School and attended Holy Cross College and later the University of San Francisco. He was a World War 2 Navy veteran. Mr. Egan has been a long time executive with Standard Oil before retiring in 1983. He was a member of St. Stephen’s Catholic Community, the USS California Association, SIRS #8, and the Walnut Creek Lodge of Elks.
