Charles William Burns, Jr., 84, Clarksville, died Monday, December 13, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Dae Hyuk Kang officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born March 30, 1926 in Havre Da Grace, MD, son of the late Charles W. Burns, Sr. and Evelyn Preston Burns. He was retired from Civil Service and had served in the US Marine Corps. He was awarded the Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife, Unpun Hong Burns; three daughters, Barbara Peterson (Todd), Cambridge, IL; Kathy Daly, Oceanside, CA; and Debbie Adams (Michael, Sr.), BelAir, MD; and a sister, Virginia Burns Cooper. Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild; niece, Robin Lostumo and nephew, Bruce Cooper.
