Constance M. (Cavaca) Arruda, 80, of Little Compton passed away Sunday, December 12, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was wife of the late Anthony Maitoza and the late John J. Arruda.
Born in Fall River, she was daughter of the late Manuel and Marjorie (Chase) Cavaca. She graduated from J.F. Wilbur School in Little Compton. Prior to retirement, she worked for the Little Compton Nursing Association. Mrs. Arruda was a member of the Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton.
Survivors include her children: Karen Maitoza of Little Compton, Christopher Maitoza and his wife Catherine of Tiverton, Jonathan Arruda of Little Compton and Julie Giguere and her husband Kevin of Little Compton; her beloved grandchildren: Nicole Arruda, Victoria Arruda, Andrew Giguere and Katie Giguere; 3 sisters: Sally Arruda of Little Compton, Nancy pontes of Barrington and Mary Lou St. Laurent of Tiverton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was sister of the late Jeanette Arruda and Dorothy Vibberts.
She was very outgoing and the life of the party wherever she went and will be missed by her family, friends and caretakers.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Amicable Congregational Church, Tiverton at 11:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 5 – 8 P.M. at the Potter Funeral Home.
Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton.
