Obituary

Richard Allen Walker, 78, of 296 Franklin Place, died Sunday, December 12, 2010 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born in the Pelham area of Caswell County on April 17, 1932, he was the son of the late Percy David Walker and
Mamie Saul Walker. He was first married to Helen Breedlove Walker who predeceased him in 1990 and later married
Evelyn McCune Walker, who survives him of the home.

Mr. Walker was a member of The Tabernacle for a number of years. He had lived most of his life in the Danville and
Pittsylvania County areas. He was a graduate of Cobb Memorial High School; was a veteran of the United States Army
Where he served as a military police, and had worked for the Danville Police Department where he retired as Lieutenant
After 35 years of service. He loved to watch racing, football and baseball. One of his favorite pastimes was watching
And feeding the birds.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Walker is survived by one daughter, Patsy Ann Walker of Danville, one step-son, Ray L. McCune
And his wife, Judy, of the Mt. Hermon community, and one step-grandson, Chris McCune of Lynchburg. Other survivors include
Two sisters, Shirley Ann Massey and her husband, Wayne, of Danville, and Lottie Gay Gee, of Chatham; two brothers,
Garland Walker of Danville and Otha Walker of his wife, Kathleen, of Dade County, FL; also a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Walker will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel with
The Rev. Lamarr Mooneyham and the Rev. John Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
