Attleboro – William L. “Gus” Phipps passed away on December 8, 2010 in Attleboro, MA. Age 84. Born in Taunton in 1926, he was the son of the late Albert and Anne (Bissonnette) Phipps. Beloved brother of Louise Emond, Ruth Phipps, George Phipps & the late Albert Phipps. Dear uncle of Susan “Kitty” (Horgan) Berry, Brian Horgan, James Phipps, Albert Phipps & the late Robert Phipps.
Bill was a graduate of Taunton High School & served in the Army during World War II. He was employed by the Railway Express & the T.M.L.P., from which he retired. Bill enjoyed golf, playing cards & the dog track in his younger years. Since 2007 Bill has been a resident of the Golden Living Center – Garden Place in Attleboro.
His funeral services will be held Monday at 11am at the Taunton Funeral Home 8 Crapo St. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Monday at 10-11am.
