Loving mother, grammy, sister, and aunt, Mrs. Helen Louise Chilton Hunter, 87, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2010, at her home. She was born in Surry County on March 20, 1923, to the late Dewey and Bertha Jessup Chilton.Mrs. Hunter was a farmer and also worked as a CNA for several years. She also taught Sunday School and influenced many lives by showing her love for Christ. Mrs. Hunter will long be remembered for her love of God, family, and children.She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Robert Aaron and Debbie Hunter of Pilot Mountain; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Jimmy Simmons of Pilot Mountain and Ava and Dr. Richard Brinegar of Elkin; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Imogene Chilton, Larry and Linda Chilton both of Pilot Mountain, Otis and Carole Chilton of Clemmons; two sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Jean Marsh of Winston-Salem, and Judy and Jimmy Melton of Rural Hall; nine grandchildren, Joey Simmons, Eric Simmons, Cindy Watkins, Dustin Hunter, Ashley Boles, Andrew Hunter, Joshua Brinegar, Daniel Brinegar, and Paul Brinegar; and three great-grandchildren, Austin Simmons, Gage Simmons and Erica Simmons; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, Robert Clevo Hunter; two brothers, Hollis Chilton and Paul Chilton; and one sister, Avanel Smith.The family will receive friends on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Brims Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Jones and the Rev.
