DANIELSON, CT – Lenore G. (Gorton) Franzen, 83, of Danielson, died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 in Day Kimball Hospital, Putnam. Her husband of 40 years, Eugene A. Franzen, died in 1993.
She leaves 4 children, John T. Franzen of South Haven, Mississippi, Philip E. Franzen of Providence, RI, Janice L. Franzen of Maybrook, NY and Susan J. Valente and her husband David J. Valente of Foster, RI; 7 grandchildren, Jonathan, Michael, Christopher, Charlie, Philip, Michael and Stephanie; 3 great grandchildren; a sister, June Hollingworth of Conway, AK; nieces and nephews.
She was born and raised in Providence, a daughter of Earl and Gladys (Sparling) Gorton. She graduated from Classical High School in 1945. She returned to Providence in 1968, moving to Danielson in 1994.
She was a veteran of the Women’s Air Force in World War II.
Mrs. Franzen was a homemaker. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Danielson.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, December 12, at 4:30 PM in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1742 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI. There are no calling hours.
