Obituary

Carleton D. Boardman III, 41, of Fall River passed away unexpectedly on Sun., December 5, 2010 at St. Anne’s Hospital due to complications associated with epilepsy. He was surrounded by his loving family. He is the beloved husband of Michelle D. (Masse) Boardman. Carl is the son of Nancy (Collins) Boardman and Carleton D. Boardman Jr, of Swansea. After living most of his life in Swansea, he moved to Fall River 5 years ago to be with the love of his life whom he married on May 27, 2007 at Notre Dame Church. Carl graduated from Joseph Case High School in 1987, and earned a BA in History from Assumption College Class of ’91. Carl currently was a sales associate at Sears Dartmouth in Home Improvement. Carl was an active participant in his community. He was member of the Notre Dame Church Choir, Church Lector, Secretary of the Fall River Republican City Committee, Chairman of the F.R. Ward 1 Republican Committee, the Founder and Coordinator of the Spindle City Tea Party Movement, Chief of Staff for the Committee to Elect CJ Ferry, political advisor, and local television political commentator. He also enjoyed collecting coins, woodworking, the Patriots, the Bruins, time spent together with his wife, and spending time with family and close friends. Surviving in addition to his wife and parents, are grandmother Vivian Boardman of Somerset, MA, three brothers, Michael (wife Beth) of Newport, R.I., Daniel (wife Julie) of Swansea, MA, and Timothy of Swansea, MA. Father-in-law, Roland J. Masse and wife Jeannette of Fall River, MA, sister-in-law, Celeste (Masse) Torres and husband John of Westport, MA, and brother-in-law, Justin Masse of Fall River, MA. He also leaves behind nieces and a nephew, Emily and Samuel Boardman, and Celina Torres. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation go to the EMTS of the FR Fire Dept. and ER staff of St. Anne’s Hospital for their tireless efforts to save Carl’s life.
Funeral Services to which relatives and friends are invited to will be held Saturday 9am at the SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Eastern Ave, Fall River. Internment at Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling Hours will be Friday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Please omit flowers. The family will graciously accept donations to assist with funeral costs.
