Charles W. White, 71, of Fitzgerald died Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M., Friday, December 10 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Edgar Renfroe and Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. White was born May 29, 1939 in Ocilla to the late Marvin M. and Theo Musslewhite White. He lived in Fitzgerald most of his life and was a former resident of Moultrie. Mr. White was a former truck driver for Burlington Motor Carriers, Crete Trucking and J.B. Hunt, driving for over 40 years with no accidents. He served in the Georgia National Guard and attended Calvary Baptist Church.
Mr. White is survived by his wife of 52 years: Helen F. White of Fitzgerald; son: Charles “Ted” White of Rockland, ME; daughter & son-in-law: Judy & Tony Dykes of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Amanda White, Heather White, Jessica White, Jeremy White, Amy (David) Tucker, Kevin Dykes and Mariah Dykes; sisters: Ledeane Cooper and Janice McDaniel both of Fitzgerald; sister-in-law: Sue White of Elkhart, TX as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Marvin and Thomas White.
