NEW BEDFORD — Cecilia (Olszewski) Zeitler, age 94 years, died Friday, December 3, 2010 at New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home after a period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Henry C. Zeitler.
Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Franciszek and Sophia (Deluga) Olszewski. A graduate of New Bedford High School, Cecilia lived in Dartmouth most of her life until recently moving to the nursing home. She was employed for many years at the former N.B. Textile School which merged with SMU (now UMass-Dartmouth) as an accountant and secretary until retiring. During World War II she served in the U.S. Army. An artist, Cecilia loved painting and flowers.
She is survived by her nieces June Roy and Frances Aguiar, nephews Robert and Michael Barnes, grandnieces and grandnephews, her sister Czes Barnes, and aunt of the late John Kuznar.
Visitation will take place at the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St., New Bedford, on Friday, December 10th from 6-8 P.M. with a service at the funeral home on Saturday at 9 A.M. followed by burial in Rural Cemetery with military honors
