Obituary

Tommy Waller, 68, of Fitzgerald, Georgia died Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday, December 9 at the Fitzgerald Church Of God with Rev. Dewain Joiner, Rev. Aubrey Maye and Rev. David Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Waller was born August 12, 1942 in Irwin County to the late Marvin and Mary Dickson Waller. He lived in Fitzgerald all of his life, graduating from Fitzgerald High School in 1960. Mr. Waller was owner/operator of the Fitzgerald Shoe Hospital, a former employee of Rainbow Irrigation in Fitzgerald and Colony Cookware in Tifton. He was a veteran of the Georgia National Guard and a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association. Mr. Waller was an active member of the Fitzgerald Church of God where he was a Sunday school teacher.

He is survived by his wife: Shirley Ann Waller of Fitzgerald; children: Deborah (Jerry) Hullinger of Charlotte, NC, Greg (Christine) James of Fitzgerald and Delaine (Ruel) Joyner of Savannah; grandchildren: Thomas and Phillip Hullinger, Hailey Carver, Erika & Coty James and Rider and Livia Joyner as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Myra Morris Waller and a son, Michael Jeffrey Waller.
