Lillian M. (Donovan) Burrill, 81 years, of Brockton, died peacefully surrounded by her family December 3, 2010. Born and raised in Dorchester, she was the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Bockelmann) Donovan. A resident of Dorchester for 35 years, Lillian also lived in Eliot, Maine and then in Brockton for over 40 years. As a young woman, she enjoyed teaching ballroom dancing and had been employed at the Boston Court House until her marriage to the late Richard T. Burrill. Lillian was also a waitress for many years at Christos Restaurant. Lillian had also been a longtime communicant of St. Colman Church/Christ the King Parish.
She is survived by her children Michele Maduri and her husband Paul of Norwell, Richard T. Burrill, Jr. of Brockton, Julie Ann Dickinson and her husband Lance of Marshfield Hills, Colette Roberts and her husband Darrin of Marshfield and Leslie Burrill of Wareham, eight grandchildren, Ashley, Nicol, Madison, Nicholas, Kingsley, Liam, Granger and Lily, a great grandson Cameron, a sister Carol Holmberg of Whitman and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Margaret Hassett, Frances Mitchell and Marie Benoit.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8pm.
