RAYNHAM – Loretta (Perry) Wood, wife of the late Leonard F. Wood, died at Morton Hospital & Medical Center in Taunton on Dec. 4, 2010.
She was 85. Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph B. and Mary (Oliver) Perry.
She was a 1943 graduate of Taunton High School.
A Raynham resident for the past forty years, Mrs. Wood was employed by the John Hancock Insurance Company as a dividend coordinator.
She was with the company for over thirty-three years before retiring in 1989.
Mrs. Wood was a communicant of St. Ann Church in Raynham, served as chairperson and past treasurer of the Raynham Council on Ageing, and was past treasurer of the Raynham Sociable Seniors.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail Langille of Braintree; three stepsons, Dennis Wood of Iceland, Joseph Wood of Dighton, and John Wood of Bridgewater; three stepdaughters, Letitia Hewins of E. Bridgewater, Ellen Scopa of Bridgewater, and Ann Paronich of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Marie Beth Guiles of Stow, MA, and Neil F. Langille of Sudbury, MA; five great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren, and step great grandchildren.
She was also the sister of the late George Perry.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Dec. 9th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Ann Church, Raynham at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Dec. 8th, from 4 to 7 p.m.
