Obituary

SALEM - Valerie T. (Orzechowski) Kiely, 95, of Peabody, formerly of Salem, died Monday, November 29, 2010 following a brief illness and surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Richard H. Kiely and the late Morgan J. McSweeney.

Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Theophile and Mary (Sankofski) Orzechowski.

Her family was her world. For 64 years Valerie’s life centered around her three daughters, Sharon Stanley of York, Maine, Jane Daigle and Kathy Murphy of Salem. She was a loving “Nana” and best friend to her grandchildren. Making pancakes or meatballs for her "kids", driving them around in her little car and having overnight visits were her favorite “duties.” Her two great granddaughters were a special gift. We will miss her every day, and she will live in our hearts forever.

Besides her three daughters, Valerie is also survived by Gilbert Stanley, Bruce Daigle and James Murphy, six grandchildren, Lisa Stortstrom, Bryan & Brenda Daigle, Alisha Daigle, Jerome & Kathleen Murphy, Kendrah Murphy, Jordanne Murphy, two great grandchildren, Sara Stortstrom and Jenna Kiely Daigle, one cousin, Sophie DiRubio and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Erik Stortstrom and Nathan Daigle, one brother, Louis Orzechowski, and four sisters, Albina Nestor, Genevieve Havian, Bertha Hull and Virginia Orzechowski.
