Celia Ortega (Lopez) age 93 of Canton passed away December 3rd at the Ellis Nursing Home. Born and raised in Jamaica Plain before moving to Canton in 1956, she worked as a waitress for most of her career, which included the Red Wing Restaurant in Walpole. She also worked for Draper Brothers in Canton. During her retirement years, she enjoyed meeting people in her role as a Tupperware Consultant. She continued to work well into her 80’s as a “papergirl” for the Patriot Ledger. Celia enjoyed the holiday parties and having her nails done at the Canton Senior Center. Most of all, she enjoyed the company of her family and friends. She will fondly be remembered for her kind, gentle nature and how she referred to those close to her heart as “Dolly.”

Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Wednesday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Thursday morning at 10:30.
