Eileen F. (Lanigan) Estella, 73, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at the West Acres Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Donald F. Estella and the longtime companion of Joseph “Sonny” Estella of Randolph. Born in Boston, she was raised in Roxbury and was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston. She was a resident of Norwood for over 20 years, before moving to West Acres Nursing Home in 2001. She worked as a Nurse’s Aide in several nursing homes in Norwood for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoyed taking cruises, traveling to Foxwoods and Twin River, taking road trips and vacationing in New Hampshire.
She is survived by her children, Robert J. Estella and Kathleen J. Estella both of Norwood. She was the sister of Mary T. Sheehan of Carver and the late Robert Lanigan. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt.27) Stoughton on Monday, December 6 at 7:45 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Norwood at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Sunday from 3-7 PM. Burial will take place at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
