Robert R. McLaughlin

...oil burner technician, Mensa Member; at 50

WOBURN - Robert R. McLaughlin, age 50, died Saturday morning, Dec. 20, at the Life CareCenter of Stoneham, following a five year battle with cancer. He was the husband of Cynthia M.(Sweeney) McLaughlin, with whom he had celebrated a 25th wedding anniversary this past April22nd.

He was born in Cambridge, Nov. 17, 1953, a son of Edith (Feennell) McLaughlin of Saugus andthe late Henry R. McLaughlin. He was raised in Melrose and lived in greater Boston throughouthis life, with the last eight years in Woburn.

He was employed as a H.V.A.C. technician and oil burner technician until illness forced hisretirement.

He was also a member of Mensa.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by four children, Colleen and her husband RonaldDwan of Lowell, Timothy McLaughlin, U.S. Navy, currently stationed in Norfolk, VA, RyanMcLaughlin and Bridgett McLaughlin both of Woburn; three sisters, Patricia McLaughlin ofSaugus, Adair and her husband Bradford Kendall of W. Peabody, Edythe Shea of Saugus,Matthew and his wife Cheryl McLaughlin of Newbury; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephewsand cousins.

Following cremation, a Memorial Mass was held Saturday, Jan. 3, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury.
