Edna Sue (Wiggs) Yates 91 passed away Tuesday November 30, 2010 at the Masonic Home of Louisville.
A native of Chattanooga, she was a retired scrub tech for Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, a member of Clover Leaf Baptist Church and The Eastern Southern Star Chapter #154.
Her and her husband started the first AARP Chapter in Shively. She loved her square dancing and belonged to several clubs.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Philip Yates, sons; James Edward, and Raymond Leroy. Parents Brown E. & Orpha Wiggs, brothers; Garner & Irvin, and sister Ophra. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a giving heart and soul, loved by all and will be truly missed.
She is survived by her 4 children; Rebecca Kendall (John), Phillip Yates (Linda), Ronald Yates (Bev) and Louise Thewes (Al). 1 brother Babe Wiggs(Ellen),14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be10 am Saturday at the Masonic Home of Louisville Chapel, 230 Masonic Home Drive .
Visitation will be there Friday 2pm to 7pm.
