Obituary

Helen E. (Wansiewski) Kostyla, 94, died on Thursday morning, December 2, 2010 in Beverly Hospital. She was the wife of the late Stanley C. Kostyla, with whom she shared over fifty years of marriage.
Born in Salem on Oct. 29, 1916, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Boruskowska) Wansiewski. She was raised and educated in Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School and Salem Commercial School. She had been a Danvers resident for sixty-five years.
For more than ten years, Mrs. Kostyla had been employed in the office at Danvers State Hospital. She had also worked as a secretary at Sylvania and Salem State College.
Active for many years at the Danvers Senior Center, she was also a member of the Polish Club in Danvers.
She was the beloved mother of John Kostyla of Danvers and Robert Kostyla of Marion. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Anne Nolan of North Carolina, three grandchildren, Christopher, Caroline, and Jaclyn Kostyla, and several nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 10AM in Saint Richard Church, 90 Forest St., Danvers. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery. Visiting hours are Sunday from 4-6PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Kostyla's name may be made to the Danvers Senior Center, 25 Stone St., Danvers, MA 01923.
