Jerry L. Wernsman, 67, of Metamora passed away at 6:00am Wednesday December 1, 2010 at her home in Metamora.
Jerry was born on February 25, 1943 in Greenville, IL the daughter of Gerald and Erline (DeVall) Wernle. She married Omer E. Wernsman on November 10, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora.
Surviving is her husband, their two children Jeff (Susan) Wernsman and Vickie (John) Foster both of Metamora. Further surviving is her four grandchildren Austin and Dillon Wernsman and Brittany and Megan Foster as well as her mother Erline Wernsman Ball of Metamora, one brother Chuck Wernle of Louisville, KY and one sister Alice (Mike) Murphy of Benson, IL. Her father preceded her in death.
Jerry worked at the Metamora Pharmacy where she retired from in 2006. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora.
Jerry loved spending time with her grandkids, family friends, summers at the campground and winters in Florida.
A Funeral Mass will be 10am Saturday December 4th at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Metamora with Fr. Don Roszkowski officiating. Visitation will be at Mason Funeral Metamora Chapel on Friday from 5pm until 8pm with recitation of the rosary at 8pm. Cremation rites will follow her mass with a private burial of ashes at St. Mary’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in her name to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Illinois Cancer Center or OSF Hospice.
