Obituary

Larry was born in Warren, OH in 1931. He served for more than three years in the United States Navy Amphibious Forces during the Korean War and received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska in 1957.

He joined the DuPont Company in 1957 as an engineer in the Design Division of the Central Engineering Department where he was involved with the design of air conditioning and envioronmental control systems.

In 1961 he transferred to the Engineering Service Division as a field engineer and joined the Pigments Department's research and development group in 1964, transferring to the Antioch, CA plant during it's start-up period that year.

Subsequent assignments include engineering development supervisor at the Edge Moor, DE plant, production supervisor at the Newport, DE plant, and assignment as the venture coordinator for a Latin American pigments project from 1971 to 1972 in the International Department. He returned to the pigments Department in 1972 and was named project coordinator for the new DeLisle, Miss. plant. In May of 1977 he became Asst. Manager of the Mississippi plant.

After retirement from DuPont in 1985, he joined B. Gary Scott Realtors, then prepared taxes for H&R Block and worked as a volunteer tax preparer for the AARP.
