Obituary

WORCESTER-George M. Alexander, 87, of Worcester, died Thursday, November 25th in U-MASS Memorial Healthcare. He leaves his wife of 55 years, Patricia (Kazis) Alexander; his son Dr. Michael G. Alexander and his wife Nikki of Winnetka, IL; a sister, Catherine Gilbert of Patrick, SC; and two grandchildren, Christina and M. G. Foster Alexander.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Michael and Marina (Scopas) Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a graduate of Commerce High School, and attended Clark University. He was a World War II Navy veteran; and had worked for New England Telephone as a telephone repairman and installer. Mr. Alexander was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Tsamanta Society, and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

The funeral is Tuesday, November 30th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 10:00 AM in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral Family Center, 102 Russell Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
