Patrica "Pat" Jackson of Blakely died Thursday morning in Mercy Hospital. Her husband of nearly 50 years, William Jackson, died in April 2007.
Born in Olyphant, daughter of the late Verna Krizovich Rutkowski, she was a graduate of Olyphant High School and a former member of Holy Ghost Church. She was an active member of the choir at both Holy Ghost and, subsequently, Holy Cross churches. Pat had a passion for cooking. Before retiring, she spent the better part of her life cooking for several area restaurants and, of course, for her family.
She also loved the opera, classical music and reading. But perhaps more than anything, she enjoyed telling the whole family what to do, and the family loved her for it.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are a daughter, Lisa and husband, David Jones; two sons, William Jr. and wife, Bonnie; and Kenneth and fiancée, Nicole; a brother, Edward Rutkow-ski; a sister, Faye Hopkins; a grandson, William Jackson III; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
The funeral will be Monday from the Michael P. Glinsky Funeral Home Inc., 129 Grant St., Olyphant, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, Olyphant. Interment, Valley View Cemetery, Montdale. Friends may call Sunday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
