Josephs-Barr, Beatrice (Barlow) of Revere and formerly of Chelsea died on November 24, 2010. She was 93 years old. Beatrice was the beloved wife of the late Moses Leslie Barr and the late Irving Josephs.
Beatrice was born in Chelsea and attended the Chelsea schools. She was a retired bookkeeper for Temple Emmanuel of Chelsea where she had worked for many years. She served two terms as Past President of the Temple Emmanuel Sisterhood and two terms as Past President of her chapter B’Nai Brith. Beatrice was a tireless volunteer and fundraiser for many Jewish organizations.
Beatrice was the devoted mother of Lewis S. Barr and his wife Rochelle and Franklin J. Barr and his wife Judith. She was the loving daughter of the late Anna and Louis Barlow. She was the dear sister of Marilyn Furman. Beatrice was the loving grandmother of Melissa and her husband Craig Carnahan, Keira and her husband Rob Tamurian and Alison and her fiancé Joydeep Basu. She was the loving great grandmother of Catylyn, Morgan. Kelen, and Cole.
Graveside services at the Ahavis Achim of Revere Cemetery, 232 Fuller St., Everett on Friday, November 26 at 11:00 AM. Memorial observance at her late residence on Friday 2-5 PM and Sunday 12 -4 PM. Contributions in Beatrice’s memory may be made to Temple Emmanuel, 60 Tudor St., Chelsea, MA 02150.
