David R. “Dave” O’Scott, 71, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at Dorminy Medical Center, Fitzgerald.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, December 20, 2003, at the Central United Methodist Church, Fitzgerald with Rev. Steve Waldorf officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. O’Scott was born July 19, 1932 in Chicago, IL, to the late David Louis O’Scott & Amy Randall O’Scott Robinson. One son, Patrick O’Scott, also precedes him in death. Mr. O’Scott served in the United States Army. He was a former resident of Douglas and Macon before moving to Fitzgerald in 1976 from Albany to open Ben Hill True Value Hardware Store. He was the owner/operator of Double Aught Advertising Agency in Fitzgerald and a former salesman for WBHB and WRDO and was the voice of the Purple Hurricane Band. Mr. O’Scott was a former 2 term past 18-C District Governor for Lions International and past president and dedicated member of the Fitzgerald Lions Club. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald.
Survivors include his wife: Dorothy H. O’Scott, son, Carl O’Scott, daughter & son in law, Amy O. & Billy Shiver, Fitzgerald, 2 Grand Children and one brother, Jay M. Oren, Los Angeles, CA
