William J. Newman, 54, of Manchester, NH, died Saturday November 20, 2010, in his home in Manchester. He was born in Lawrence, MA on September 17, 1956, a son of Thelma (Spencer) Newman and the late Gordon Newman. He had been a resident of Manchester for the past 10 years, formerly living in Derry, NH. He was a retired employee of Lucent Technologies in Andover, MA, and was currently employed as an inventory controller with Telequip Corporation in Salem, NH. He enjoyed swimming in the pool, riding his motorcycle, and loved to play with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother of Manchester; he is survived by two sons, Carlos Newman of Concord, NH, and Michael Newman of Manchester; one daughter, Crystal Newman of Manchester; four grandchildren, Blayze Newman, Serenity Newman, Jayden Vosburgh, and Zena George; two brothers, John Newman of Epping, NH, and James Newman of Lawrence; one sister, Carol Nyberg of Auburn, NH; his ex-wife, Victoria Benjamin of Manchester; as well as many nieces and nephews and a grandson on the way.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, November 23rd from 5 - 8:00pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following cremation, a graveside service was held on Saturday, November 27th at 10:00am in Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry Road, Derry.
