Obituary

Mae L. (Munroe) Perkins, 76, of Medway, died, Thursday, November 18, 2010 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home. She was the wife of Clayton E. Perkins who died in 1985.

Born in Framingham on August 5, 1934, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Bella A. (MacRae) Munroe.

Mrs. Perkins was a lifelong resident of Medway and graduated from Medway High School in 1952.

Retiring due to illness at the age of 73, Mrs. Perkins was a bookkeeper at Central Equipment in Millis for 10 years.

Mrs. Perkins was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #1526 in Medway since the age of 16, joining under her father. She was past President of her local auxiliary; past District #5 President and was the Dept. of Mass. Junior Vice President until having to resign in January.

She is survived by three sons, Clayton E. Perkins Jr. and his wife Elaine of Medway, Donald Perkins and his wife Heidi of Millis and Daryl Perkins and his wife Pamela of New Braintree, her daughter Charlene Sylvester of Medway, 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Tuesday, November 23 at 10 a.m. in the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway.

Burial will follow Evergreen Cemetery in West Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 – 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Military Assistance Program c/o the Dept. of Mass. VFW, The State House Room 546-1, Boston, MA 02133 or to any charity to do with caring for animals.
