Margaret A. (Hernon) Quirk, of Weymouth, formerly of Quincy, died at home with her family on Friday, November 19, 2010. She was 91.
Margaret was born on Inishmore, Aran Islands, County Galway, Ireland. She immigrated to the United States at the age of 19. She settled in Dorchester and then Quincy where she lived for many years before moving to Weymouth ten years ago.
She worked as a quality control inspector for the Gillette Corporation in South Boston for 37 years.
Margaret was a former member of the Sodality at Sacred Heart Church. She also enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family. Although she had no children of her own, Margaret was extremely close to her nieces and nephews and was a big part of their lives.
The beloved wife of the late Francis P. Quirk, Margaret was the loving sister of Mary Hernon of Quincy, Agnes O’Connor of Weymouth and the late Coleman and Michael Hernon. Sister-in-law of Delia Hernon of the Aran Islands. She was also the loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews in the US and Ireland.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Sacred Heart Church, North Quincy on Monday, November 22 at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave. MILTON, Sunday 4-8PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery.
