Obituary


Everett C. Ford, Jr., 93, of Brant Rock, formerly of Whitman, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2010. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Velma A.”Ardelle” (Greene) Ford; his daughter, Cheryl Tufankjian and her husband Charles of Duxbury and their three children Gregory Tufankjian and his wife Ellen of Wellesley, David Tufankjian and his wife Evelena of Duxbury and Rosemary Tufankjian Flaherty and her husband Edward of Duxbury and seven great grandchildren, Calista, Sophia and David Tufankjian, Matthew and Michael Tufankjian, and Ani and Charles Flaherty.

He was born and raised in Whitman and was a graduate of Whitman High, class of 1935

Mr. Ford worked many years for the Bond Bread Company and later for the Avon School Department. Mr. Ford served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II and was a Mason and a member of both the Puritan Lodge of Whitman and the Daniel Webster Lodge of Marshfield. He was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Whitman.

Mr. Ford enjoyed his retirement in Blue Fish Cove clamming, fishing, tending his garden and riding his bicycle. He kept a daily journal and was the historian for his neighborhood association. He loved spending time with his friends, the local business people and his family.

His services will be held on Tuesday November 23rd at 11:00AM in the First Congregational Church, Washington St. Whitman, MA. Visitation will be on Monday November 22nd from 4:00-7:00PM, in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. A Masonic service will be held at 6:00PM. Donations may be made in his name to the Charity of One’s Choice.Burial will be at a later date.
