Arthur Russell Noverca, 75, of Fall River entered into Eternal Rest Thursday, November 18, 2010 surrounded by his daughters. He was the son of the late Jose F. Noverca and Diolinda (Souza) Noverca and brother of the late Jose F., Antero F., Aurelio F., Umberto F., David F., and Hilda Noverca, and Bertha Anderson.
He is survived by his former wife, Liduina (DeMedeiros) Noverca, his brother, James F. Noverca of Fall River, his children, Monica Connors of Tiverton, RI, Tania M. Babcock and her husband William, Sonya M. Noverca, and Vania M. Noverca-Viveiros and her husband, Abel, and Jason A. Fournier of Fall River. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jason E. A. and his wife Rachel, and Michael C. Soares, Nichole M. and her husband Joshua Cunha, and Courtney M. Buckley; Cohen W., Ryan C. and his wife Leticia, and Jared P. Babcock; Jessika L. and Mathue A. C. Days, Abel J., Nathan P., and Aaron M. Viveiros; and his Great-grandchildren Molly J., Sasha L., and Noah J. Soares, and many nieces and nephews.
He was a veteran of the of the Korean War having served in the US Air Force as Jet Engine Mechanic from 1954-1958. He retired as a Steamfitter/Steam Engineer from Algonquin Gas Co., and enjoyed his retirement having membership at the Royal Order of Elks, and the Amvets Post 60 of Fall River, and spending time with his family and friends.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River MONDAY at 7:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church, N. Main St. at 8:00 A.M. Interment in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours SUNDAY 2-4 & 7-9 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or the AMVETS Post 60, 175 Danforth St. Fall River, Ma.
