Joseph Zoobkoff, 87, of Whitman, died Wednesday November 17th in the West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Beatrice” Betty” Pepper.
Joe was born in Buffalo NY, son of the late Trophim and Elizabeth (Osolin) Zoobkoff.
He has been a lifetime resident of Whitman, a graduate of Whitman High class of 1940 and a very active member of the former First Baptist Church of Whitman.
Joe worked as an electrician for the Polaroid Company for many years, up until his retirement. He also served his country in the United States Navy during WW II, on the USS Bunker Hill.
He enjoyed fishing and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Linda VanLaarhoven and her husband Eddie of Whitman, Dona Mills and her husband Brian of Foxboro and Gail Swanstrom and her husband Bob of Plymouth, his brother Edward Zoobkoff of Abington,his sister Martha Hobill of Maryland ;also his grandchildren Kara, Katrina, Kevin, Kyle, Ari and Farren, his great grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Abigail, Katelyn, Ryan, Ethan, Carson and Aaron .He was also the brother of the late John Zoobkoff
His services will be held on Monday November 22nd at 10:00AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Interment will follow in the Northville Cemetery, East Bridgewater.
