FORT LAUDERDALE, FL: Stanley H. Johnson, 55, formerly of Gloucester, died
unexpectedly on November 12, 2010.
Born in Gloucester on January 27, 1955, he was the son of Kathleen M. (Wasgatt) Mattson of Rockport. He grew up in Gloucester and was liked by many. He was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1973.
Stanley was an avid sports fan and lived for the Patriots and Red Sox and was thrilled to see them win the Super Bowl and World Series. He loved music, especially the Beatles and the Who.
In addition to his mother, Kay, he is survived by a sister, Diana Johnson of Rockport, three brothers, Michael Johnson, and his companion, Rachel Sibert, of Elicot City, MD, Charles “Chuck” Johnson and his wife, Ruth of Peabody, Paul Lawson and his wife, Marietta of Gloucester; nieces, Melissa and her wife, Doris Arvilla, Jennifer Quinn and her husband Christopher, and Jill Cushnie; a nephew, Adam Johnson and his wife, Jenna, as well as many other family members and friends.
Services will be held privately in the Beechbrook Cemetery. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Acton Shelter, c/o Ralph Johnson, 180 Main St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
