
Joseph Perry, age 89, of Fall River, passed away peacefully, Nov. 16, 2010, after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Rose (Costa) Perry & the son of the late John & Helena (Botelho) Perry. Prior to retiring, Joe worked for thirty-six years at the U.S. Naval Base in Newport, RI as a Supervisor of Public Works. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II, a past volunteer at St. Anne’s Hospital and a member of the Friends of St. Anne’s. He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign War, the Portuguese American Veterans Assoc. and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was also a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church.
He is survived by his beloved children, Brian J. Perry and his wife Jeanne of Fall River, and Joyce Perry of Franklin, MA. Two sisters: Alice Costa of Tiverton, & Delores Costa of Fall River, and his dear friend: Agnes Amaral of Fall River, & several nieces & nephews. He was also the brother of the late John Perry Jr. & Mary Carreiro. The family would also like to thank Joe’s caregivers: Maria Souza, Beth Pacheco, Ana Botelho, Fatima Rego, and Melissa Silvia, who have taken care of him for the last seventeen months.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Fall River MONDAY at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 10:30 A.M.
