Maria S. Tavilla, of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville died Wednesday morning at the Woburn Nursing Center. She was 84.
Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and the late Antonina (Freni) Tavilla. A Stoneham resident for more than 25 years, Maria worked as an administrator for the US Postal Service.
The devoted sister of Dominic Tavilla of Winchester and his late wife Mary, Salvatore Tavilla and his wife Sandy of Saugus she was a loving aunt to Nina DelFavero and her husband Gene of Stoneham, Camille Early of Groveland, Maria Arria and her husband John of Wilmington, Angela Melkonian and her husband Melkon of Wilmington, Tracy Tavilla of Revere. She also leaves 9 grandnieces and grandnephews.
Her funeral procession will gather at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday November 22nd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central Street, Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
