Obituary

HAMILTON: Arnold W. Wentworth, 71, died November 13, 2010 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington after a lengthy illness.
Born in Beverly on January 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Hugh C. and Mildred (Hitchings) Wentworth. Arnold was a longtime resident of Hamilton and attended Hamilton High School.
He worked as an auto mechanic for many years until his retirement in 2002. When Arnold was not working on cars he enjoyed many outdoor activities such as, boating, snowmobiling and motorcycles. He also enjoyed his many trips to New Hampshire over the years. In true New England spirit he was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. Arnold enjoyed spending time at Henderson’s Café in Wenham, where he could be found engaging in conversation with the “regulars.” Above all he cherished the time he spent with his family making lasting memories for all of them to remember.
He is survived by his two sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth H. Wentworth of Hamilton and Thomas A. and Kathleen Wentworth of Georgetown, two granddaughters, Jacquelyn M. Wentworth of Ipswich, and Colleen Wentworth of Georgetown, one brother, Edmond and his wife Carol Wentworth of Billerica, his longtime companion, Jane Brown of Hamilton. He also was predeceased by his brother, David Wentworth and his two sisters, Shirley Ackerman and Beverly Harris.
His funeral services will be held on Wednesday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Avenue, Haverhill at 11a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, 41 Mall Road Burlington, MA 01805. Interment will be held in the Hilldale Cemetery in Haverhill.
