Alice A. (Brunsten) Jones 86, of 70 Briarwood Cir. died Sunday, Dec.14, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center-University Campus.
Her husband of 54 years, Arthur S. Jones died in 1995. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Ivar and Anna (Halldin) Brunsten. She graduated from Commerce High School.
She worked for the First Federal Savings and Loan Association for over 40 years, retiring in 1974.Mrs. Jones was a member of the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church and was active in the choir, taught Sunday School and active in several of the church’s committees. She also was past president and treasurer of the Scandinavian Women’s Club, past president of the Greendale Retired Women’s Club, the first woman trustee of Mechanics Hall, a member of Nordic Lodge #611 of the Vasa Order, the Stella Chapter of the Eastern Star and the Worcester Grange.
A Private Service will be held in All Faiths Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Quinsigamond United Methodist Church, 9 Stebbins Street Worcester 01607. LINDQUIST LUNDIN FUNERAL HOME, 36 Butler St. is directing arrangements. (www.lindquistlundin.com)
