Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Claire T. (Florence) Tebo, 81, of Fernwood Lake Avenue died Wednesday, November 10, 2010 in the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, Burlington after taking ill at her home early Tuesday morning. She was the wife of the late Alfred Tebo.
Born in Manchester, New Hampshire on January 8, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leon F. and Yvonne M. (Delisle) Florence. She was a graduate of the Manchester High School Central. She had been a resident of Gloucester since the early 1960’s.
Claire had been employed by Nichols Candies for fourteen years. Prior to that, she was a waitress at the former Big Wheel Restaurant and the Garrison House.
In addition to being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, her passion was playing bingo with her many friends at various locations on the North Shore. She enjoyed word puzzles and her cat, Mittens. Claire was also a longtime member of the Gloucester Emblem Club No. 339.
She is survived by her daughters, Denise Hebert of Denver, CO, Brenda, wife of James Leal of Raymond, NH, and Michael, husband of Kathryn (Joslin) Hebert of Gloucester; two grandchildren, Christopher Leal and Heidi Hebert; her longtime friend and companion, Arthur Lane; sister, Dorothy, wife of Edwin Babel of NH, brother, Thomas, husband of Cheryl Florence of CA, brother-in-law, Gilbert “Gibby” Robinson of NH; and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two sisters, Corinne “Tootsie” Robinson and Geraldine “Gerry” Giroux; and her former spouse, Fernand Hebert.
Her funeral service will be held on Sunday afternoon in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2 – 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Prayers of committal will be held privately.
