An avid motorcyclist, Jerry was a charter member of the New London County Harley Davidson Club, and the Harley Owners Group. When not riding his motorcycle, he spent much of his time outdoors in his garden, or tinkering in the garage. Some of his other many interests included hiking and camping with friends, skiing, boating, bicycling and almost anything outdoors. Also a NASCAR fan, he often attended races combining them with a weekend of camping or motorcycling with family and friends.
He was a steadfast ATV race fan following family friend Josh Creamer # 9 on the Pro ATV circuit often being called "his biggest fan".
