Obituary

Vincent Asaro, 73 of Medford, died Tuesday after a lengthy illness in the Woodbriar of Wilmington Nursing Home. He was a Medford resident for forty years formerly of BostonĀ“s North End, Roxbury and Somerville.

Vincent was a former member of the Iron Workers Union Locals 25, 7 and 508. He then went on to recieve his Masters Degree in Psycology from Boston University. He was a former member of the National Rehabilitation Counseling Assoc. And was very involved in community Wheelchair Accesability. Mr. Asaro was very involved in community politics and was a 1963 Candidate for the GovernorĀ“s Council representing Somerville and was also at one time a candidate for the Medford School Committee. His last employment prior to his retirement twelve years ago was with the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commision.

Mr. Asaro is predeceased by his wife Marie Elena (Cullen) Asaro and survived by two children, Steven P. Asaro and Stacy Marie Asaro both of Medford. Two loving grandchildren Ashley Ann Asaro and Steven Vincent Joseph Asaro. Daughter-in-law April Asaro of Medford and a sister, Josephine M. Sullivan and her husband Richard of Medford.Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Friday from 4 thru 9 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
