Obituary

Goldie Moran Jordan, 94, formerly of 453 Foster Road, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010, at Riverside Health & Rehab Center. Born September 7, 1916, in Kingston, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late George Walter Moran and Binda Hall Moran. She was married to James Henry Jordan who predeceased her.
Mrs. Jordan lived most of her life in Danville and retired at age 65 from Dan River Mills where she had worked for 43 years. She was a member of Sandy Shores Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jordan is survived by a daughter, Gaynelle Jordan Setliff of Danville; a special friend, Marion Setliff of Danville; two grandchildren, Pamela Setliff Patterson of Danville and Donna Setliff Comper and husband Michael L. Comper of Danville and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Patterson, Ryan Comper and Emily Comper all of Danville. Also surviving is a grandson, Ronald K. Setliff and wife Tammy Setliff and two nieces, Shirley Conner and husband Ed Conner and Darlene Furr and husband Tommy Furr. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, L. D. Moran.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010, at Swicegood Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Billy Scearce and Rev. Roy Newton officiating. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 7:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. and at other times will be at the residence, 453 Foster Road, Danville, VA.
