Pearl Couch Allen, 89, Clarksville, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at Fieldstone Place Retirement Community. No services are planned. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born in Banner VA, on August 28, 1921. The daughter of Andrew Bruce and Piney Neeley Couch. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Stella C. Hensley, Dorothy Couch, Francis C. Wall, Edith C. Owens, brothers Horace Couch,and Ralph Couch, her daughter Deborah Lynn Allen who died August 8, 2004. Pearl attended school in Coeburn, VA. Graduated from Elizabethton School of Cosmetology in 1942 and operated the Betsy Beauty Salon with Billy Hart.
She married Ejebert J. Allen September 24, 1945. Lived in Elizabethton until 1951 in Greenville, TN. until 1958 and Waynesville, NC. until 1961, Nashville, TN. until moving to Clarksville, TN. in 2001. Pearl is survived by her husband of Clarksville, her sister Sibyl C. Truxton, son-in-law William Bailey Allen, II of Clarksville, two grandchildren William Bailey Allen, III and Elizabeth J. Allen Lane.
She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Nashville for 30 Years.
